<p>6th December, 2023, Windhoek: Amb. Michael Sialai, High Commissioner of Kenya in Namibia held a 60 years Anniversary of the Country’s independence yesterday at the Mercure Hotel.  The event was attended by high-ranking officials from the Namibian government not limited to Hon. Jennely Matundu – Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO) who was the Chief Guest, Hon. Yvonne Dausab, Minister of Justice and Khomas Region Governor, Hon. Laura McLeod-Katjirua.  Diplomatic Community in Namibia, private sector and section of Kenyans were in attendance.</p>

<p>The two speeches from the High Commissioner and the Chief Guest both lauded the special relations that Kenya and Namibia share dating back to 1966 when Mzee Jomo Kenyatta donated a Land rover to SWAPO then as a liberation movement to help in transporting personnel from Francis Town in Botswana to Kazungula in Zambia, a bond that was strengthened further during the UNTAG era and post independence where collaborations in fields such as health, education , agriculture among others continue to thrive.</p>
